Redlough Landscape - New Products
Resin Bound Gravel
Redlough landscapes have recently introduced a Resin bound gravel surfacing and Resin bonded gravel surfacing system to our range of external Landscape services.
This type of product is increasing in popularity for a wide range of applications such as driveways, patios, conservatories, playgrounds, swimming pool surrounds, disabled access ramps, roof terraces and balconies. Resin bound gravel surfacing is a fully permeable SUDS compliant system and offers an environmentally sound alternative to traditional paving products. As rainwater management becomes a more topical issue and one which the public at large are becoming more aware of the use of a SUDS compliant surfacing solutions will take on greater importance. The Geo Pave system offers a distinct advantage over other resin bound products in the market place; flexibility. The resin component used in Geo Pave is unique because it has the ability to expand and contract under extremes of temperature. This means that the surface retains its integrity over a long period and is not susceptible to cracking. Resin bound paving is available in a wide range of aggregates in colours and textures to suit any setting.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly is resin bound paving / aggregate ?
Put simply resin bound paving is a mixture of aggregates and resin combined with a hardener which forms a hard durable surface suitable for pedesterian or vehicular use. The resin bound paving products we apply are called 'Geo Pave' and 'Adtex'. This system is also referred to resin bound gravel, resin bonded aggregate, resin bound paving, and resin bonded driveways
What surfaces can I apply resin bound paving to ?
Resin bound surfaces are generally laid directly on a prepared base of concrete or tarmacadam/ashphalt.
Does 'Geo pave ' need to be laid on a newly prepared base?
No, as long as the original base has been thoroughly cleaned and loose materials and weeds have been removed. In some instances a self levelling compound may be required over a rough or uneven base.
How quickly can I use it ?
Geo pave can be lightly trafficed for pedesterian use after 12 hours. It is recommended not to drive on it for a few days after application. The resin component continues to strengthen over a number of weeks to form a completely solid mass.
What is the difference between the 'trowel finish' and the 'scatter/broadcast system'
Our trowel finish system is mixed and laid at a depth of 12mm or 18mm depending on usage. The broadcast system is scattered directly on the resin coated surface at a depth of 1-3mm
How long will it last ?
The manufacturers of our resin bound sufacing system estimate that the lifespan of the product is 15-20 years. The Geopave and adtex systems have undergone extensive testing and are approved for use by The Highways Agency and The British Standards Institute.

Typical Gabion Applications
· Retaining wall structures
· River and canal training
· Erosion and scour protection; roadway protection; bridge protection
· Hydraulic structures, dams and culverts
· Coastal embankment works
· Rockfall and soil erosion protection
· Architectural cladding for walls and buildings
· Freestanding walls, noise and environmental barriers
Architectural Gabion Applications
Recently, Weld Mesh Gabions have been regularly used as architectural retaining walls, as well as architectural cladding for buildings. This is a testament to the quality of finish that is possible with Welded Mesh Gabions when constructed properly.
All our welded mesh gabions are manufactured in Ireland, giving us the flexibility to supply made to order non-standard sizes and configurations with a minimal lead-in time. We can supply almost any specification or combination of specifications of gabions for all applications and durability specifications. One popular configuration is 4mm diameter mesh in the front and 3mm diameter mesh everywhere else for extra vandal resistance on the front exposed face of the gabions.
Specialist design and installation service for gabions also available if required. We specialise in building the high quality retaining walls using high quality gabions.
Our Welded Mesh Gabions have BBA approval, Certificate number 05/4215
